Statement of Intent
Media
Institutions:
The
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) lists out the rules of which need to be
followed when it comes to creating adverts. The adverts should not cause harm
or offence to the audience of the adverts, therefore, my advert will not
feature anything that could come across as controversial to others or anything
that could, for example, affect someone’s mental health. Another way I will
create my adverts within the ASA rules is that it will not have any political
agenda associated with it.
The magazine
companies make their revenue from selling advertising space in their magazine
for their audience to see. This creates a revenue stream and they can then use
this money to produce more magazines.
Media
Representation:
For my
advert, I will also need to represent the target audience in a positive way.
This means that they will be not be represented negatively in ways such as
vandalising etc. by representing them in a negatively way may affect sales for
the target audience and therefore decrease the profit made due to audience
decoding it in opposing reading (reception theory).
Media
Audience and Media Language:
I will
construct my advert to appeal to the target audience by making it have bright
colour schemes for the title as it will catch their attention and make them
more interested in the advert. the advert will also include social media for
them to follow as the target audience is likely to have social media and want
to follow it to get information about the channel. The fonts will also be
legible and clear to read as it means that they are more likely to read the
advert and get all of the information.
